LAST DAY to Apply for Canada Summer Jobs by 12PM

The Canada Summer Jobs Program is accepting applications UNTIL TODAY at 12PM EST
Last Day to Take City of Toronto Sidewalk Litter Survey

A note from the City of Toronto MLS policy review team:
The City of Toronto is reviewing issues related to cigarette butts and litter in front of licensed businesses, in particular, the regulation described in Toronto Municipal Code, Chapter 545, requiring licensed businesses to install and maintain temporary cigarette butt receptacles on the sidewalk adjacent to their business. The purpose of this work is to keep sidewalks cleaner by simplifying rules for licensed businesses, and raising awareness of responsibilities of business owners.
We are seeking feedback on these issues to inform a report to General Government and Licensing Committee in Spring 2020. As BIAs and licensed businesses, we encourage you to provide your feedback via a short survey, until February 28, 2020.
If you have any questions about this review, please contact us at mlsfeedback@toronto.ca.

40 Years, 40 Stories – Share Yours

These stories will become a blog series, virtual time capsule, and self-guided Scavenger Hunt that will help local people and tourists alike get to know the Riverside BIA in 2020 and for years to come.

Contingency Plan for Potential CUPE Labour Disruption

A message from the City of Toronto

The City of Toronto has announced its contingency plan for service delivery in the event of a labour disruption involving members of TCEU Local 416 – CUPE, the union representing outside workers. The City’s approximately 5,000 outside workers were initially in a legal strike position and the City in a legal lockout position as of 12:01 a.m. on February 27. In an effort to continue to work to reach a negotiated collective agreement, the bargaining committees have agreed to extend the strike deadline by 48 hours to Saturday, February 29 at 12:01 a.m.

If you have questions about the contingency plan, contact 311 Toronto or get the latest on the City’s Twitter @CityofToronto
