This post is to let everyone know that there is a very exciting new business that has rolled into Leslieville. It’s located in the space that once housed the Ceili cottage and then for a brief stint, The Burren Pub. It has now been taken over by the legendary and experienced operators of Toronto’s beloved Betty’s. It will now be called Betty’s East. For those who enjoy the occasional drink (or many lol), Betty’s located at 240 King St E has been a cultural hub of the neighbourhood for decades.
They have now added a new business right beside both venues called CoMMO (aka Community of Menus & Meals Online). CoMMO is an all new kitchen and marketplace that brings together hot takeout menus, restaurant quality frozen meals as well as curated beer and wine for takeout all under one roof. It is co-owned by two dear friends of ours, Alex (of Betty’s) and Sully (the former owner of Victor restaurant located in Le Germain Hotel). Sully knows his food as he is not only a great chef, but a great sommelier as well. All wine in CoMMO has been curated by him and isn’t available in the LCBO. Prices are only marked up by 20%, which is a small premium to pay for sommelier selected vintage wine, beer and ciders. The food isn’t very expensive either for a great quality product. If you are getting tired of cooking or expensive takeout, this is a great alternative.
Please support this new local business. You can find them at:

When the city re-opens, they will also be serving brunch on the weekends. I look forward to seeing you on the patio for a cold pint this summer. Here’s to all of the restaurants opening up again. We miss you!
