Riverside Visits Les Clefs D’Or
Riverside BIA Chair Mitch Korman and Executive Director Jennifer Lay
|
This week, the Riverside BIA’s Chair Mtich Korman, Executive Director Jennifer Lay, and local resident and Marketing Committee member Lynne Patterson, presented to Les Clefs D’Or Concierges of Ontario at their meeting at the Soho Metropolitan. We had a warm welcome as we delivered an update on all the exciting changes in our great ‘hood since our last visit with them in 2014 – how time flies!
Who Are Les Clefs D’Or?
Les Clefs d’Or is a society of Hotel Concierge whose aim as an organization is to facilitate the exchange of ideas between our members and to provide mutual assistance in order to better serve our valued guests.
Speaking to Les Clefs D’Or is a great opportunity for Riverside to showcase what our neighbourhood has to offer and for hotel concierges to recommend our restaurants, shops, festivals, walks (and more) to their clients!
Next, we look forward to bringing Les Clefs D’Or to Riverside for a great experience!

Crime Prevention – Beware of Fake Bills
|
A couple Riverside businesses have gotten fake bills in the past week.
The photo shows a real versus a fake $50 where you can see clear differences, once you know, with the fake bill: colours are more vibrant than usual, and the holograms are opaque or incorrect. People provide fake bills as part of a scam where the ‘customer’ waits for staff to be busy and distracted, and then ‘customer’ may be pushy and impatient – putting the pressure on staff even more.
Training all staff to spot fake bills (usually $50s or $100s) and ‘customer scam’ techniques like this, and saying NO to accepting the bill or making change for the bill, are good ways to help prevent this crime. |
