RTCC Just Got a New Art Exhibition in its Stairwell
The Transformation of Portraits, Landscapes & TechnologiesLooking for a free thing to do inside on a chilly winter day? Check out the Saulter Street Stairwell Gallery’s new exhibit, inside Ralph Thornton Community Centre, featuring artist Wendy Lu.
The exhibition is on until February 24th from 9 am to 9 pm, Monday through Sunday and it’s free to enter.
The colourful exhibit includes a range of acrylic and coloured pencil artwork that is done on both canvas and paper. The artwork is a visual thought experiment that works to explore and creatively expand on a range of references and concepts.

Keep an Eye Out: Commercial Facade Improvement Program Will be Launched Soon! Did you know the City of Toronto provides funding for the improvement and beautification of commercial and industrial buildings for BIA members?

The City of Toronto offers BIA members minimum funding of $2,500 and a maximum of $12,500 to put towards upgrades for their businesses. What’s better? 50% of the cost of renovation is covered, meaning upgrades which may have previously been unfeasible are now more attainable. To make it even easier on businesses, Riverside BIA maintains a list of contractors to help assist in your application – please contact office@riverside-to.com for more information.

Sidewalk Café & Marketing Display Bylaw Review
As a neighbourhood with plenty of options for coffee and patios, we think Riverside would be interested in this…

The purpose of this review is to harmonize the bylaw so that consistent standards are applied across the City. As part of the review, the City is proposing updated fees, as well as new standards and options for marketing displays and sidewalk cafés (for example, curbside cafés and parklet cafés).
The general public is invited to attend the City’s public consultation on the Sidewalk Cafés & Marketing Displays Bylaw Review on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Toronto City Hall, Committee Room 4, from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

More information on the Sidewalk Cafés & Marketing Displays Review is available on the City of Toronto website.
