Riverside BIA Streetscape Master Plan Open House is TODAY!
Riverside BIA last Open House (Drop-in) for the Streetscape Master Plan is TODAY! Riverside BIA members and the public are invited to join the Riverside BIA Board, the local Councillor, and City staff at the Public Open Houses to review and to learn additional information about the Riverside BIA Streetscape Master Plan that is currently under development.
The Open House is drop-in style from 5pm-7pm and will take place inside the Riverside BIA office @ 630 Queen Street East (studio inside Dark Horse Espresso).
On Wednesday, October 3rd, Riverside BIA members are invited to attend the 2018 Annual General Meeting:
Come meet and greet with BIA members and the community, learn about the 2019 BIA program and budget, take a look back on the highlights of Riverside BIA programs, take part in BIA Board Elections, and learn about the Streetscape Master Plan that will guide BIA investments in future.
On September 15, we had Riverside’s first Public Art walk!We had such a great time at the Riverside Public Art Walk on September 15th, and a fabulous group of engaged walkers who explored the lively and different types of art displayed throughout the neighbourhood.
A big thanks to Walk Leader, Anjuli Solanki, former Executive Director of the Riverside BIA and now Director of Community Programs at the art organization STEPS Initiative and also a visual artist!
Highlights of the walk included The Tkaranto Past, Tkaranto Future Mural done in 2017, Echo sculptures in Joel Weeks Park, Riverside Bridge and the Stairwell Gallery in the Ralph Thornton Community Center!

Connecting BIA members to Youth Employment Services
Youth Employment Services (YES) is funded by Employment Ontario, and their goal is to curb unemployment in Ontario. The organization provide businesses with up to $6,500 in wage reimbursements to subsidize the cost of hiring youth from the program.

Two-Hour-Transfer on the TTC with Presto
The TTC launched its Two-Hour-Transfer program on August 26, 2018, allowing Presto passengers to hop on and off of transit as much as they need within a two hour time frame.
