A Night of Glitz & Glamour in Riverside with TIFF Founder Sept 9th
A Night of Glitz and Glamour in Riverside with TIFF Founder Henk Van der KolkGet up close and personal with a Canadian film icon. Don’t miss this epic special event with TIFF founder & film icon Henk Jacob Van Der Kolk, hosted by Toronto Food Tours & The Peasant Table.
This glitzy cinematic affair begins at Riverside’s The Peasant Table, where Chef Scott of Toronto Food Tours will introduce the guest of honour with a 1970s inspired cocktail party. Guests will then be whisked away in a fleet of escorted limos to a secret screening location, to view Van Der Kolk’s incendiary 1977 film “Outrageous!”
Join in the Ralph Thornton Community Centre’s Annual Open House from 12pm-3pmActivities on September 15 include our Volunteer Recognition Brunch at 11:00 AM, the “Open House” showcasing RTCC programs and activities beginning at noon, and an Elevator “Ribbon Cutting” ceremony at 2 PM. The Open House will continue until 3 PM, at which time there will be a PWYC performance of Unspoken Theatre Company’s new production – “Play with your Food” in the Betsy Swift Kitchen. Throughout the Open House there will be information tables and/or displays of space user and partner programming!
Riverside BIA Streetscape Master Plan Open Houses are Sept 19th & 21st
Public Open Houses (Drop-in) | Riverside BIA Streetscape Master Plan on September 19th and 21st, 5-7pm
Riverside BIA members and the public are invited to join the Riverside BIA Board, the local Councillor, and City staff at the Public Open Houses to review and to learn additional information about the Riverside BIA Streetscape Master Plan that is currently under development.
The Open Houses are drop-in style from 5pm-7pm and will take place inside the Riverside BIA office @ 630 Queen Street East (studio inside Dark Horse Espresso).

As part of the Riverside Walks 2018 series, the Riverside BIA is presenting the Riverside Public Art Walk on September 15th:
This walk is the first walk of its kind for the Riverside BIA, the walking tour highlights Riverside’s public art which weaves together stories of changes over space and time, heritage, people, nature, and ways of living. And it is fully booked up!
‘Riverside Walks’ is our series of complimentary local guided walking tours throughout the spring, summer, and fall (May-Oct). Free to the public, thanks to the support from our 2018 Walks Sponsor Team Sheppard RE/MAX Hallmark.

The Ontario BIA Association (OBIAA) is hosting community conversations around the province to identify main street and public space accessibility barriers and solutions.
