Leslieville Mural Open House
Dear Friends,
I’m excited to let you know the three mural proposals for Queen and Jones will be unveiled to the community on Monday, January 18th, at Project Gallery at 1109 Queen Street East at an Open House between6:30 – 8:30. This is your chance to see the proposals, speak with the artists about their concepts and share your feedback.
As you know, the existing mural is not in the best shape and the wall underneath needs substantial repairs. Because the original artist is unknown, it is not possible to replace the existing mural as is. You can read more about the circumstances in this article that was in the Toronto Star over the holidays.
Three artists will be showing their proposals for your comment and feedback – Dan Bergeron, Elicser and Mediah. I’ll also post the proposals to my website so you can weigh in even if you can’t make it to the Open House.
Leslieville is a vibrant, engaged community with a rich history and anymural in our neighbourhood will reflect that. I hope you’ll participate in this process either in person or online.
Sincerely,
Councillor Paula Fletcher
Ward 30 – Toronto Danforth
