Here is an update from our local Riverside BIA!

Riverside is Getting a New Mural
Share Your Thoughts

Riverside is getting a mural on the west-facing wall of Elbers Antiques at 777 Queen Street East. Long a neglected spot targeted by graffiti, this mural will help revitalize and brighten this area of the Riverside BIA, thanks to a City of Toronto mural grant.

Toronto Design Offsite Festival Looking for Window Installation Venues

Do you have a venue you’d like to have activated with a window installation, event, or exhibition? Get involved with the Toronto Design Offsite Festival.

The Toronto Design Offsite Festival (TO DO) is an annual event that takes design out of the studio and into the streets of Toronto. It is the largest cultural celebration of design in Canada that confirms that Toronto is a hub for design and creativity. Our 7th annual Festival Week happens January 16-22, 2017.
TO DO 2016 had 85+ events, 99,000+ visitors, 66+ million brand impressions, and 58+ million press impressions with just over 400 designers. Of the 99,000+ visitors, 99% said they would recommend the festival to their friends and would return, 40% of visitors have an annual income of $80,000+, and 14% of visitors have an annual income of $150,000+.

TO DO events, exhibitions, and window installations brought 2,000+ visitors into the Junction neighborhood. Jessica Myers, Executive Director of theJunction Business Improvement Area, said of TO DO:
“I encourage many of the Junction BIA businesses to become involved in TO DO by either hosting designers, installations or exhibits. Because this neighbourhood is synonymous with art and design, I enjoy teaching the business owners how to highlight those elements within their space, and show them that design takes on many shapes and forms and can be accessible by all.”

TO DO can increase visibility and foot traffic to your business, which may tend to slow down after the holiday rush. By participating in this vibrant Festival, you can support designers and artists, while meeting and building relationships with new customers and the creative community in Toronto.
